An arrowhead plant with dark green leaves can live in low to medium light. Arrowhead plant varieties with light green, white, pink, or burgundy leaves need medium to high light. The leaves of all arrowhead plants are bleached and turn to gray-green color when placed in the direct sun.
Water well and then allow the top 50% of the soil dry out before watering again. An arrowhead plant droops when it needs water, but stands up quickly once watered. When over watered, these plants develop root rot and die.
Fertilize every two weeks in the spring and summer when actively growing with a balanced, liquid plant food diluted to 1/2 the recommended strength.
